What travellers are saying
- KtgirlOntario, Canada488 contributionsThis place is simply amazing. I recommend it to anyone who has the slightest interest in American Space program or history. No admission, not sure if the staff are volunteers? Everyone we dealt with was very friendly and helpful. There is a small cafeteria with readymade sandwichs, soft drinks, chips etc. A nice spot to take a break. We were there over 3 hours and didnt even see half of it. We went through 3 units. We will be back for sure. Also there are scooters that you can borrow if you have difficulty walking distances.Written 15 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - NVM6 contributionsGreat Christmas lights, music in settings of outdoor museum. Tallest “ Christmas Tree” in South Ohio made of a bell tower is fascinating. Excellent Christmas boutique with unique ornaments and toys is worth visiting. It is great for all agesWritten 11 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- julia_fisherMerrimac, MA711 contributionsFun place to visit. We always try to find car museums in our travels. Three rooms of cars and knowledgeable docent answered our questions. Photo op in one of the cars also. Worth a stop.Written 17 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SophiaSpringfield, OH93 contributionsWe went to the Dayton Art Institute on a cold January weekday afternoon, primarily to view the Toulouse-Lautrec traveling exhibit. We were surprised & pleased to see there were many, many other people there also. The traveling exhibit was wonderful - but keep in mind that it is well worth your time & money to go just to see the permanent collections of art throughout this large museum. The variety of collections are simply amazing: they are carefully & thoughtfully displayed; each piece is given ample room for viewers to stand back & take in the work, & plaques inform the viewer with the right amount of information to educate viewers about each work. There is much to see here, & it is very well done. Also, the gift shop has wonderful items (art, jewelry, books, etc.), & every employee/volunteer we encountered were kind & helpful.
We plan to go back soon to see collections we missed, & re-visit the collections we liked the most.Written 16 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The NPS does a great job showing how their lives are interwoven. The Wright Brothers movie (On Great White Wings) was exceptional. Do not miss the Ranger led tour of the Wright Brothers' 4th bicycle shop. Don't forget to go to Huffman Prairie Flying Field Interpretive Center, the Wright Brothers Monument, the Wright Brothers Aviation Center, and the airfield. Each location is absolutely great. Your Junior Rangers have three books to work on, so start early. If you visit the prairie site down by the tarmac/catapult/shed site, your Junior Ranger gets an extra prize. This can be a full day that is so much fun! I loved it.Written 24 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Mo4lessOakwood (Montgomery County), OH90 contributionsFamily friendly museum great to visit on sunny and rainy days. I went with my mother in law who had been many years ago. She was impressed with how much they have expanded. There is tons of space to teach and demonstrate science. Lots of historical artifacts and reproductions of prehistoric animals. Hands on exhibits. A life sized Lite Bright wall was one of the hilights for me. There is an indoor zoo with otters, a sand cat, birds, meerkats, and other amazing creatures. I was not able to stick around for the shows but I will be back with our kids when they get a little older.Written 26 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - julia_fisherMerrimac, MA711 contributionsWe found Erma Bombeck and the Wright Brothers. I wish it hadn't snowed so we could have seen it better but still saw what we came for.Written 17 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - LSB82Clifton20 contributionsWhat a great place to visit! We just wanted a place to go for a walk but this historic working farmstead was more than we expected. Hannah was a wealth of knowledge and told great stories about the Arnold family. It is free but everything is very well done and presented. Perfect for history buffs, young families, or anyone interested in learning about Ohio farming. We spent two hours there but it is easy in and out with small children. We will be back!Written 23 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
