Dear Mrs Shape ,

Thank you for your email. You are right that we are not down the foot of the Eiffel Tower but we are still in Paris and about 15/20 minutes by taxi or by bus.

Kind regards,

As the third one to comment, I agree with what the previous responders wrote. However, we used the city bus to get to the Eiffel tower, on the advice of the concierge at the hotel. The bus stop is right around the corner and it drops you off right by the tower. Super easy. And definitely try to get your tower tickets before you leave. The line to buy them there is incredibly long. If you have your tickets you bypass quite a bit (but not all) of the line. The official website for the Eiffel Tower will tell you the date and time your tickets will be available to order. The night I ordered mine (I had to order them during the night because of the time difference between Paris and California) they were sold out for the day I wanted in about 7 minutes. As far as walking from the hotel, most of the other popular tourist sites are about 20-25 minutes at a leisurely pace. The river is maybe five to ten minutes away. Paris is a wonderful city to walk around, and we loved how quiet and peaceful the hotel was at the end of the day. Happy anniversary!
