Good Morning Chris,

Thank you for reaching out with your question and for choosing the Waldorf Astoria as your host for your special visit! Please know how much we look forward to welcoming you to our legendary hotel this upcoming January.

During this month, outside temperatures can be quite severe. Our team operates the HVAC units to combat the cold and keep our guest rooms at a comfortable, warm temperature consistently throughout the winter months. Should an occasion arise where one of our valued guests catches a chill, we are also more than happy to accommodate requests for an in-room heater to supplement our property-wide heating system.

Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any further inquiries, and thank you again for your question.

My best regards,

Siobhan Delaney

Good Morning M W!

Thank you for reaching out with your question. We look forward to welcoming you here for your special Christmas celebration! I would like to share some information with you from our housekeeping team regarding your inquiry.

I think you are referencing a question from another guest who will stay with us over the holidays and wanted to install a small Christmas tree in his guest room. This can be arranged for our guests who are staying in the Towers of the Waldorf Astoria. I will reach out shortly to inquire as to whether you will be staying in the Towers and if so, we can coordinate from there.

I would also like to share an option you have if you are a guest of the main hotel: you can feel free to bring some decorations (or ship some 2 weeks before your arrival, we are happy to hold packages at the hotel for our guests!) and arrange them in your room upon check-in, as long as they are not electric decorations because of the fire safety precautions we must uphold.

I look forward to your correspondence and thank you again for reaching out. Our apologies for the delayed response through email.

My best,

Good Morning Alex!

Thank you for reaching out to our team via the TripAdvisor Q&A feature. We are truly delighted you have chosen to celebrate such a joyous occasion at our hotel!

To celebrate this special occasion, I would highly recommend enjoying a unique, personalized spa or couples spa experience at our Guerlain spa on the 19th floor of the Waldorf Astoria. We have several luxurious treatments and therapies available for couples who come here to celebrate a honeymoon, anniversary, or other occasion.

Another excellent opportunity to celebrate your anniversary with your girlfriend is a dinner experience at our Bull & Bear Steakhouse, which is rated as one of the Top 10 steakhouses in the country by USA Today. This intimate, celebrated steakhouse offers a variety of tempting dishes and outstanding service from a knowledgeable wait staff, and they are always happy to recognize a special celebration for our valued guests.

As for arriving early to place some items in your room, this would be a great way to surprise her! Our check-in time is 3 pm, and so we would be more than happy to check you into your room as soon it is ready so that you can place a few items she loves in there. Alternatively, we can also provide an in-room amenity through our room service team, which I will send you more information about in a private message.

Lastly, as for the delivery service from TAO, we only provide room delivery of food items that we cook in-house. If you wanted to consider ordering a slice of Waldorf red velvet cake, which was invented at our hotel, or chocolate-dipped strawberries, you can place this order with our room service team before you arrival or simply when you would like it to be delivered. Many restaurants, TAO included, offer delivery services through websites like Seamless and GrubHub, if this is an option you would like to consider.

I hope this response has answered your questions, and I remain available for any further inquiries you may have. Again, thank you for reaching out, and we look forward to welcoming you to the Waldorf for your special anniversary!

My best regards,

Dear Samantha,

Thank you for reaching out with your question! I would like to shed some light on your inquiry from the hotel's perspective.

The Superior Guest Room accommodation you booked is simply a type of room category we offer; this does not guarantee a high floor or a view. I will follow up with you shortly to ask for your booking information so that I may personally make note of your requests in our system, and we will do our best to accommodate them according to what rooms are available at the time of your check in. I apologize for any miscommunication of this.

Furthermore, I would also like to explain about the Hilton Honors program at our hotel. We only grant points for funds paid directly to the hotel, which means that bookings made through third party websites such as Expedia will not warrant Hilton Honors point rewards. I would like to share that you will still earn Hilton Honora points for incidentals and fees charged to the credit card we have on file for your booking (room service, etc.)

We hope that you will keep your booking with us, as it would be a pleasure to welcome you to our iconic hotel. Perhaps an alternative solution to your inquiry would be to cancel your third-party booking through Expedia and book through the Hilton reservations system to ensure that you receive all the Hilton Honors points possible and that you receive the best room type for your needs.

We remain available for any further questions you may have, and I will reach out through a private message shortly to ask for your booking information so that I may make notes of your requests. Many thanks, again, for reaching out, and I look forward to your correspondence.

Not sure about the Hilton points as we booked directly with the hotel. We did however claim our points after our stay, we provided them with our dates/name and our points were credited. There was no question of who we booked via. I'm sure you will like the hotel. The lobby is impressive as are the bars. We like the pub type bar on the ground floor. Breakfast is yummy. Our room was nice, a little dated but the bathroom was modern. We checked out of 2 other hotels to stay there so I'm sure you will enjoy it. I would stay there again for sure.

Good Morning Audra,

Thank you for reaching out with your inquiry! I would like to join the conversation here on TripAdvisor and shed some light on your question from the hotel's perspective.

First, we do have mini fridges in each room- though they are for mini-bar items. We will reach out shortly to obtain your booking information so that we can do our best to accommodate your request.

Regarding your other comments (a quiet room and black-out draping), we will make notes on your reservation of these requests and will assign you the room that best fits your preferences upon arrival. I would like to share that we have special holiday dining experiences at the hotel's restaurant outlets for family members of all ages, though we do not currently have any further activities planned at the moment.

We will reach out shortly, and I look forward to your correspondence!

Dear Alan,

Thank you for reaching out to our property via the Q&A feature. We always appreciate the opportunity to interact with our guests and speak to and questions or concerns before booking a room here!

It is wonderful that you are planning a special visit to New York City on the way to Savannah, Georgia for your wife's birthday. We would consider it an absolute pleasure to host you, and I am confident that you will not be let down if you choose to stay with us.

While our online reviews generally praise our public spaces, I do wish there was more recognition of what we've done to update our guest rooms and our ongoing strategy for improvement. Nine-inch pillow-top mattresses in each room with signature Waldorf bedding, big high ceilings and cleanliness scores near the top of metrics for Hilton Worldwide- many positives.

I would like to share that we are a historic hotel, as you most likely well know! This means that our decor is very traditional- valances and sheers as window treatments, varied accommodations and furniture styles in every room. While we do offer modern amenities such as no less than 37" flat-screen TVs in every room, an active social media presence for our guests to engage with before, during, and after their stay, and Wi-Fi service (which is free in the lobby), this iconic ambiance is not for everyone.

What I suggest is that you look into the various room types we offer to see which type fits your preferences best. Please note that some third-party booking engines that you may know do not guarantee your room type upon arrival and do not charge the state-mandated tax as well. While we do our best to book every guest into the room that best fits their needs, we run a very high occupancy every night. All things considered, I like to recommend that our guests book through the Hilton website to ensure that they will receive the exact room type they book.

I will be in touch shortly through the private messaging function to address any other questions or requests you may have, and thank you again for reaching out!

Good Afternoon!

Thank you for your question. You are correct, our Oscar's Brasserie restaurant at the hotel serves a continental or American-style breakfast buffet, and prices range from $30 - $45 depending on what types of offerings you prefer. We also have a fantastic Sunday Brunch buffet offering at Peacock Alley that runs approximately $100 and is absolutely unforgettable (you will see for yourself if in the main lobby if you are still here on Sunday!). I am unable to send you a link to our Oscar's Brasserie menu through this Q&A feature and will send you a direct message shortly with more information.

Again, thank you for reaching out! I look forward to your correspondence.

Good Afternoon Dan!

Thank you for reaching out with your question via TripAdvisor. I would like to share a little bit about our property and the type of travelers who frequent the Waldorf.

First, we are not a brass-and-glass hip hotel. Very traditional in the since that we have drapes and valances as curtains, and considering that we have been hosting valued guests from all over the world since 1931 does mean that our property is not brand new in every corner.

Furthermore, we do put a lot of money into updating our property every year. We offer amenities that cater to the luxury traveler- efficient True Waldorf Service, 9-inch pillowtop mattresses and no less than 37" flat-screen TVs in every room, cleanliness scores near the top of Hilton Worldwide metrics. There are many positives to our hotel that are enjoyed by first-time New Yorkers and frequent travelers as well. While we are planning for a large-scale renovation, this will surely take months if not years.

In short, if you enjoy courteous, luxury service, clean, comfortable spacious rooms by NYC standards with soaring ceilings, an iconic ambiance and Art Deco historical significance, we are the hotel for you! Please note that we have many different room types for travelers of all expectations and needs, and I would recommend that you research these room types to ensure that the room accommodation you book is the room that best fits your needs.

We would be happy to answer any further questions you may have as you plan your trip to NYC with your family in March, and thank you again for your correspondence.

Good Afternoon Jamie,

Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to address any potential concerns you may have through the TripAdvisor Q&A functionality! I would like to share that we feel that it is our commitment to each and every guest of the Waldorf Astoria to treat them as if they were family, and that our standard of service and guest room accommodations are not dependent on how you book your stay here. True Waldorf Service, a tenet of our brand and legacy, means that we treat every guest with courtesy and a friendly demeanor, and this extends to how we assign our rooms as well.

In short, the answer is no. The only consideration that will guide our team as they assign a room for your reservation is the room type you booked- not your method of payment.

Many thanks for your question,
