L'Hermitage Hotel Questions & Answers

Georgia

We will be returning from an Alaskan cruise and have never been to Vancouver before. Based on TripAdvisor reviews, L'Hermitage seems to be the place to stay while there.

From the map, it appears that restaurants are within walking distance and if so, what would be the top choice for dining in the area? Great seafood and wines are a plus. Thanks for any input

I would recommend you the Blue Water Café, 5 minutes walk from l'Hermitage. Booking in advance would be wise, probably one of the best see food restaurant in the city.

Take a short stroll from the hotel to Canada Place. Great selection there. Why not try the Fish House in Stanley Park? Also don't forget to ask the hotel concierge - he has a wealth of insider knowledge and will arrange everything for you. Enjoy Vancouver - it's a beautiful city.

Try Joe Fortes at 777 Thurlow & Robinson (within walking distance). The food and ambiance are outstanding. Ask to be seated on the rooftop patio and ask for Jessica for great service!

Nearby, and an excellent choice, is an italian restaurant called Luco. We also ate at Homer Street Cafe and Bar and liked it a lot. Either place would be fine.

The Gastown area really has the best selection of restaurants and it's about a 5-10 minute walk from L'Hermitage. My favorite restaurant in Vancouver, though, is Bao Bei in Chinatown which is a very short cab ride from the hotel. The food is excellent.

We really enjoyed Homer Street Cafe & Bar, 898 Homer St., a five minute walk from l'Hermitage. An unpretentious storefront restaurant, mid priced, but the food from first course to last was marvelous. I pretty much only eat fish, so I'm sure they have good seafood, but I don't recall what I had.
