Aga Resort offers a shuttle bus with driver for a reasonable price. They will transport you where-ever. There is a local bus but no air conditioning and very cramped. We hired a car for some of our time. Hope this helps.

At Aga Reef Resort we didn't see any bus, we hire a Car and went to Savaii but my children took a bus from the city to another village for $1 tala is very cheap, the tourist bus will be the best to see places I,m bless to travel with 2 Samoan son in law we hire a car for $120 tala a day, you can ask the staff at the resort they know more than me good luck

We didn't really see any buses but the hotel organised a taxi driver/tour guide who took us around the island for the day. He was great and it wasn't very expensive. A great hotel but it is out of the way so make sure you take everything you need, sunscreen etc as there are no shops close by.

Aga Reef Resort will arrange a tour for you. They are very helpful. Alternatively you could hire a vehicle in Apia before you head to the resort. Personally, I think that you will find that a one day tour is sufficient, so I would not recommend hiring a vehicle for your stay. Relax and enjoy beautiful Aga. You have the opportunity of meeting other guests in addition to enjoying what Aga has to offer.

By all means hop on a bus sometime during your stay in Samoa. The buses are fun (if you do not mind being crowded) but that is their way and they will stand up and offer you a seat.

The few local buses are not really tourist buses but might be fun. If you arrive by day you will see a good sample of Samoa on the way to Aga Reef and I'm sure that once there, the staff there would be happy to arrange a local tour or driver for you.

We found that once we arrived at Aga Reef we didn't want to go anywhere :)
