We have stayed there twice in March and the pool was heated both times. There is a restaurant on site and they are set up for games like badminton, shuffleboard, horse shoes etc. so there are some things to do besides golf. However, I don't recommend this if you don't have a car. Everything in that area is primarily residential and spread out. You may want to try downtown Phoenix or Old Town Scottsdale.

you need a car and the pool did not appear to be heated, but I think it is capable of heating. We upgraded our room to one that was bigger and downstairs next to the pool. Well worth the $50 per night fee.

This is definitely not a dumpy resort, it is actually quite nice. But, you do need a car to enjoy restaurants and shopping off property. Tip...ask for a room either by parking or by the pool to minimize the walking required around the resort.

I will agree with the previous reviewers. You do need a car to do anything from that resort. There is a shopping area with restaurants and standard shops, but it would be a long walk from the resort. It is on Tatum Avenue, which is east of the resort. There is a concierge at the resort that could help you out in getting to where you want to go. My wife and I thought the resort was a nice resort. I would not consider it dumpy and old. We had a very nice room and everyone at the resort was friendly and helpful.

The nearest shopping centers are 3/4 mile away, along a very busy road. I believe that there are sidewalks along the route. I don't recall seeing a movie theater in the mall areas to the east. There are sandwich places and fast food in the northern mall areas.

The pool was warm enough to swim in when we stayed there.

Phoenix and Scottsdale are not pedestrian friendly towns and are very spread out. It is a very auto-centric community.

This has been taken over by Wynham (from Shell) and they are working on improving the outside (especially stairs, etc.). We were not disappointed in the condo - it was very comfortable - but I did complain the housekeepers did not clean the patio overlooking the golf course so we did not use it. It's just different than what we are use to. You can call for golf cart shuttle service and they are pronto to arrive and pick you up and take you to your car, office, pro shop, etc. But it can be a problem if you go shopping, come back with packages, groceries, etc and have to carry them to your condo. I also say you definitely will need a car. There was nothing right around the resort - other than residential, the resort itself and golf course.

We did not see a mall you could walk to. The pool was warm - but it also was 110-116 degrees outside while we were there. You need to ask for a unit close to the pool, because it's quite a walk to it if you are on the "other side". Also, the laundry facilities are in the pool location so that's also a convenience. Call the office and ask them if they shuttle guests to the mall. That might help!! Good luck

There is a nice Frys MarketPlace that you could walk to but not much else. The pool is scheduled to be remodeled so I don't know what is happening with that right now. You will be VERY disappointed as this is an embarrassment to the Timeshare industry. It's dumpy and old. But you will definitely need a car.
