Hello and thank you so much for your interest in the Hampton Inn & Suites Seattle Downtonwn during your visit to Seattle. We do have several options from the airport. 1, cab: this runs $50 to $55 dollars 2. we work with a reliable towncar service, that provides a flat fee of $40. this can be arranged directly through the hotel as this is a hotel discount 206-282-7700. 3. you can take the light rail $5 from the airport to Westlake Mall and the the Monorail $5 from the mall to the Space Needle. We are two blocks from the Space Needle. How do I get to the Peir for my cruise? We work with a shuttle service that provides transportation to the Pier. This runs $7 per person and can be arranged upon check in. I hope this helps and we look forward to your visit to the Seattle.

I've just saw your 2nd question: Cab or limo is the way to go. Shuttle bus will stop at various places and pick up/drop off on the 3rd floor of the airport parking garage, not in front to the drop off area at airport. And it is really not that cheaper if you are traveling with 3 or 4 people. But if you want to travel in style, the easiet way is shuttle service from the cuise line at $75 per person. The cruise line shuttle will check in your luggage from the airport shuttle all the way to your cruise cabin door.

Btw, we stayed at the hampton by Space Needle. The advantage of limo, is that the driver will be there by the time you pick up your luggage and you don't have to fight with other tourist for a decent size taxi. If you are arriving on the day of the cruise, book a limo ahead. Wasting time waiting on a taxi will drive you nuts, lugging all you bags to somewhere on the 3rd floor of a garage(for a shuttle) is just as insane.

We book a limo ahead of arriving. Last month, we paid $60 for a towncar. $50+$10 tip He picked us up from the airport and tooks us to pier 91. We called them on the way after the cruise, and it was $40 from pier to downtown. Don't take the light rail if you have many luggages. With a family of 4, it was easier and about the same price as taking the rail. We used seattle airport express.

I have the same answer as the person above ... $60 for the cab from airport to hotel ... BUT I would take the cab and not do the light rail if you have much luggage at all as it would be a pain to haul it. Talk with the front desk at the hotel and they will get you the transfer to Pier 91 ... that is what we did and it was no problem. Have Fun!

I would highly recommend taking the light rail from the airport to downtown. It's called LINK. You will see signs for it when departing the airport. The cost was very low. We purchased an all day pass for 2 adults and 3 children and paid $18. The train took us all the way downtown which is only a few blocks walk from the hotel. A one way ticket would be even less. Even if you took a cab for the last few blocks it would be more economical than a cab all the way from the airport. Unfortunately, we did not know about the LINK until we arrived back in Seattle after our cruise so when we initially arrived we took a cab from the airport to the hotel. It cost $60.

The hotel does have a shuttle that takes you to Pier 91. I think it was $7/person. You have to reserve it at least a day ahead. It was full at the time we wanted to depart so we again took a cab. The cab ride from the hotel to the pier was $40.

Hope you have a fabulous vacation!

Thank you for all the suggestions. Is there a percentage of the fare that you would tip a cab or shuttle driver? I have never taken either mode of transportation.

I would call hotel and speak to someone at the front desk. They were very knowledgeable and willing to help. I had a car because I was travelling all over WA state.

Good luck and enjoy your trip
