Aloha,

There are many different Luau's avaialble at various location on the island o Oahu, some close to the hotel in Waikiki and others require transportation. With various price points for your choosing.

Our Poolside reception is great to enjoy cocktails complimentary after a day of tours and activities, unwind before heading out to dinner. On selected days you can enjoy Our Local Hawaiian band Roland and Sons, Kanilau.

We look forward to your stay.

Mahalo,

Shantel Burns

Have you been to a Luau before? If not, realize they are all vastly overrated. Because we were with relatives who wanted to attend one, we chose the Chief's luau based on the desk staff recommendation. It was not a good decision: the food was less than buffet quality, and the entertainment was weak- it had its moments, and the chief has an engaging personality, but it was basically 45 minutes of entertainment stretched to two hours b/c of 'drawn out' audience participation piece. Might be your thing, but wasn't ours. Real cheap on the drinks, too, both alcohol and non- and I can't recall if pop was even included- I think you were limited to a watery fruit punch. I had wanted to try the Paradise Cove luau, but was over-ruled! If you select chief's, book the cheapest seating- the difference is minimal. The people who sat right next to us paid the mid-price while we paid the cheapest rate. The most expensive rate- as far as I can tell- got you one extra drink and a necklace with large beads. Not worth it. We paid something like $80 per. Hope this helps.

We thought the manager's meeting was fair. Free "cocktails" were OK - just. Nibbles were very limited. We went to Paradise Cove, and thought it was the best of the bunch. We booked the Delux Front stage option, which was worth it as food & drinks were served to our table, and we had a great view of the entertainment. Try to get there early; there are lots of entertainments going on before the main show. We booked from the UK, and paid $153 each, which included transportation to the Cove. (It's a longish journey from Waikiki). There are probably cheaper ways to book, but we needed to be sure of getting the day we wanted. Hope you enjoy your trip!

We didn't do a luau...sorry. Also didn't do the managers reception, but the comp breakfast was pretty spectacular with every imaginable American and Asian breakfasty foods as well as the cooked-to-order omelets. And it is served in a lovely open-air fourth-floor eating area. So I would think the managers reception would be equally lovely. Also, just read the comment above about the birds, so it must be in the breakfast area. Yeah, birds are pretty comfortable with people. But there was nothing like birds on the tables!

Sorry, we did not have time to do the reception time, and in over 30 yrs of visiting I've never been to a Luau. Most people have told us they are a waste of time. I'm sure there is a good one though. Just can't help you on that. Sorry

I know that sealife park has a brand new luau, but paradise cove is supposed to be the best. The managers reception has cheese nachos and soda basically.

I can't comment on the luau since we generally stay away form those. As for the manager's reception, it is complementary, and it is on top of excellent location and spacious rooms. Enjoy.

I've heard good things about both Paradise cove and the Royal Hawaiian, but did not go to either. As far as the Manager's reception, I was unimpressed. Good drinks, but the "food" was basically chips, no dip.

The best luau on the island is the Paradise Cove luau. By far. No question. It's expensive though. About $100 each or something like that. I can't remember. We travel to Hawaii twice a year and we don't generally do luaus. The food is mediocre and it's expensive. But it's fun. We certainly do not do it every year thought. We enjoyed the managers reception immensely. Great drinks. The band is great. Lots and lots of fun.

The best luau was at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel (the old lady still rocks). The managers reception is great at Embassy Suites, the food changed daily and there is a large menu of drinks to try. Also the band is talented and loud so you may want to adjust your seating as required. Watch out for the birds.
