Oregon is more than just rain. There is lots to do inside and out. There are especialy some great wines, beers, culinary experiences, and some great views!
1. Willamette Valley Vineyards
One of the many great wineries found in the Willamette Valley. Easy access to I-5 near Salem.
Drive Highway 101 up the Oregon coast and stop anywhere! Try Newport and visit the Bayfront, the Oregon Coast Aquarium, and the Rogue Ale Brewery. Go during the Seafood and Wine Festival- yum. Keep driving north to Lincoln City and on to Astoria. Beautiful drive.
McMenamins are great NW restaurants and funky hotels created in unique historic buildings. Spend a quiet weekend at the Grand Lodge, Hotel Oregon (McMinnville), St. Francis School (Bend), etc...
4. Pine Tavern Restaurant
Check out downtown Bend and have some great dinner. While you are in Bend, stay at Inn at the Seventh Mountain or Mount Bachelor Village. Go skiing or snowboarding at Mount Bachelor. Go shopping in the Mill District.
One of the many microbreweries in Oregon. Sample, have some dinner, and take a tour. Another option is the Rogue Brewery in Newport. If you just want to smple Oregon's microbrews, try Henry's 12th Street Tavern in downtown Portland- hundreds of microbrews on tap.
Shop, eat, visit art galleries, fun bars.
When you have eaten too much, head to Silver Falls, just outside of Salem. Miles of walking, biking, and hiking trails wind around numerous waterfalls. When you are too hot, go swimming and then have a picnic!
8. Grants Pass
Head down to Southern Oregon and spend a day on a jet boat tour of the Rogue River.
Great NW cuisine. Check out their dessert display!
Day use, picinic, hike, enjoy the scenery.
