Boulder is home to the University of Colorado and serves as a lively, fun college town. There is plenty to do here, lincluding hiking Flagstaff and Chataqua Mountains, which stand right across the street from the CU campus

Take it easy in hot springs fueled by an ancient volcano. Immerse yourself in Native American culture. Visit the Paris Tabernacle. Watch a geyser shoot up from the earth. Visit caves. Camp. Hike. Bicycle. This is just some of the stuff to do in southeastern Idaho.

Like Boulder, Missoula is a great college town (this one is home to University of Montana). There's also plenty of outdoor activities, as it is nestled in the heart of the northern Rocky Mountains

- 5. Cross back into Idaho (this time northcentral) and eventually arrive in Seattle

I've wanted to visit Seattle ever since I started listening to Pearl Jam and Nirvana when I was in fifth grade. I tried really hard to be grungy (why I wanted to emulate a guy who killed himself at age 27 I don't know) and thought that if I moved to Seattle I'd have a better shot. Then I started watching Frasier and learned about Seattle's world of dainty psychotherapists who talk in British accents to make themselves sound more sophisticated. My whole world turned upside down. Was Seattle a breeding ground for hardrocking, drug-addled musicians or a haven for pedantic anglophiles? Perhaps it is a home to both, each lured in by computer software, 737s and great coffee. I've got to find out.

ICHIRO! That's enough of a reason right there to see the Mariners play. But if baseball doesn't do it for you, Safeco is worth seeing just ffrom an architechtual standpoint. It has a retractable roof that doesn't quite close all the way and there is a cafe/bar that looks in the rightfield wall that looks out onto the playing field. There's also a train that passes behind the centerfield bleachers.

It has always been a dream of mine to one day visit the Grand Canyon. Those who have been describe it as a transcendental experience, one that exceeds expectations. Visitors can hike the trails surrounding the canyon, take a burro down to the bottom of the canyon or raft on the Colorado River. There's also the enitcing option of just spending the day to take it all in.
