1. Charlotte Amalie Synagogue
Visit the Oldest Synagogue in use whatever your religion. This sand floored temple is gorgeous, and gives kids something cool AND historical. Just the trek and views from the streets up here are worth the visit.
This beach is fun for the kids. They have music live sometimes, bathrooms, restaurants and hair beading women to braid your girls' hair to keep it out of their eyes. Cost is negotiable, but we got on avg. $2 a braid or $25 - 35 for whole head for longer than shoulder length hair. Make sure you find someone who does SMALL braids, otherwise it won't last long. Don't forget to rub high spf lotion on the scalp as soon as they finish.

Also, this beach is near where Coral World exists. Take your snorkel, mask and fins and go snorkelling nearby. The jumping fish here are fabulous to see.

Secret Harbour is across the road from Coki beach. This is not a place to swim, but the fun was for the kids to see the massive piles of conch shells here. The fishing men cut their catch out and drop the shells, beautiful pink interiors are fascinating to see. Don't bring them home without ziplock bags.

I don't recommend staying here if you can afford a resort, but it is a nice beach to visit for the day. You can hang in a hammock and get food/drinks at Iggies. The beach appears to less crowded and isn't 'cleaned' so you can find shells and sea glass, or that has been my kids' experience.
Save the best for last. There is a reason this has made the top 10 beaches in the world list. It is annoying you have to pay to park, but the bathrooms are handy. The food here is on the sad side, but you can get a beer or ice cream for the kids, Pizza, french fries. We arrived late, but wished we had planned to spend an entire day. Look for my Pink Linen shirt hanging from a tree - - I left it in Feb. 07 near the lifeguard stand at the end of the beach.
