1. Copacabana Beach

NIce beach with little snack shops up and down it. Wide sidewalk all along the beach. Vendors walk up to beachgowers a lot, but they are harmless and take no as an answer.
2. Forte de Copacabana

Fun to rent a bike and ride to the fort. Nice views of the beach and surrounding area.
3. Santa Teresa

Fun district with shops & restaurants. A real slice of old Rio.
4. Santa Teresa Tram

Tram runs from downtown beside teh Petrobas building up to the district on top of the hill. Fun ride and cheap!
5. Ipanema Beach

Great market on weekend. Fun, low pressure, good prices on souvenires.
6. Cristo Redentor (Statue of Christ the Redeemer)

This has to be the one "must see" of Rio. EIther take the train or a taxi up to the top. Great views if not cloudy.
7. Sugar Loaf Mountain (Pao de Acucar)

Go up an hour before sunset. The view is phenomenal and there is a cafe at the top wher you can enjoy a drink as the Brazilian sun sets.
