1. My personal photo log of Bangkok trip
You can view my photos of these places on my site. Also, more recommendations on planning a trip to Bangkok and the islands.
2. Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaeo)
Start the day early, with Bangkok's most impressive temple. The highlight of the Thai architecture and culture.
Get familiar with Thai history
3. Chao Phraya River Tour
Take an authehentic boat, to visit the back door of Bangkok. The boat goes through the river canals (Klongs), were you can see various types of houses, temples, and city life.
You may take a tour from a pier located 5 minutes walk from What Phra Kaeo
4. Lunch at Khaosan road
Wikipedia called it one of the most profound worldwide example of a "backpackers' ghetto".
The popular book 'The Beach' called it "the centre of the backpacking universe".
With its carefree, anything-goes vibe it's quite unlike anywhere else in Bangkok and, probably, the world. In recent years there's been a subtle makeover, with an influx of fast-food outlets, swanky bars and mid-range hotels helping the area to shed its shabby image.
Located about 1 KM from Wat Phra Kaeo
A unique authentic vibrant Chinese market. The smell, the sights and the people, create a remarkable experience
Try getting there before 16:00
6. Siam Center and Siam Discovery Center
The complete opposite and contrast to the first part of the day. The malls at this region are luxurious and fancy. At first, you will feel like in a western country's mall. But, again, the amazing Thai people make it worthwhile watching how they fit in
7. Have a foot massage
You had walked a lot this day, and still have some to go.
Relax your feet, for as much as 200-300B (less than 10 USD$)
8. Siam Niramit (Siam - the Enchanted Kingdom) Show
A grandiose tour through Thai culture and history taking its audience back in time to mystical bygone eras, built as a ‘World Class Spectacular Show’
the costumes spectacular, and the set crammed with technology that makes this a state-of-the-art production. The show offers a live elephant, magical illusions, aerial performances, acrobatics, pyrotechnics, special effects, stunts, and literally a cast of thousands.
