Bodrum with anyone!!

Ask this member a question. vipfamily I have 4 kids now teenagers but have been going to Turkey for 9 visits now.

Fantastic holiday place for everyone. South West Turkey a peninsula on the beautiful Aegean Sea. Has historical sites aplenty, good food, fantastic nightlife, peaceful days and the most wonderful, hospitable people ever.

1. Goldenplate Restaurant

A family orientated restaurant run by a fther and his three sons. A very international menu. Kids corner. Free pool, PlayStation and Internet access. Entertainment every night. Party night specials. Great for families as parents can get some peace while the kids are entertained. Also use in the daytime as they serve the area of beach in front of the restaurant.
2. Ancient City of Ephesus
Ancient City of Ephesus, Ephesus, Izmir Province
Fantastic day out to the still being excavated Roman city. The large amphitheatre is amazing. Easily reached from Bodrum. Book a coach trip with the local guys not the tour operators who charge double. Make sure you take plenty of water and a hat - it gets pretty hot there!
3. Jimmy's Bar
Very useful bar if you're staying on the hillside above Bodrum. It's halfway up the hill - very welcome stop for a drink. Not always so good at night as it gets fairly packed with families staying nearby.
4. Boat Trips
Do at least one trip from Bodrum, Gumbet, Bitez or anywhere else on the peninsula. For a totally relaxing day on the boat swimming in clear blue waters in sheltered coves. Just the best value for money day out.
5. Demeter's Restaurant
Set back from the main Bar St in Bodrum. A frindly quiet restaurant where you can dine amongst the candle lit olive trees.
6. Shopping
Bodrum has really great shopping! Plenty of handbag, watch and fake designer shops which make for good presents. There's also the jewellery - beautiful gold and silver sold in the main by weight and also to be bartered for. The market at the bus station is held on Tuesdays for clothes etc and Fridays for food. Both days are interesting and worth a visit. It gets very hot so take water with you and be prepared to stop for a well earned break!! Turgutreis market is on Saturdays. Take the dolmus from Bodrum bus station. It's a great day out - both food and clothes etc. Make a day of it and stroll along the marina enjoying a meal in one of the restaurants.
