List of sites and dining experienced during a recent visit to Memphis
Great bbq in an "out of the way" neighborhood. A "must" for fans of real pulled pork bbq.
Good ribs out in the Memphis suburbs.
Disappointing bbq served buffet style on Mt. Moriah road. Good peach cobbler though.
Suberb down home cooking in the suburbs of Nashville. Great biscuits. Wonderful banana pudding.
Long wait on a Sunday afternoon. Biscuits are good but a bit overrated. Country ham was great as were the sides. Worth a visit but not the hour wait we had.
On Beale Street. Probably about the same as most of the other spots here. Good gumbo. Passable red beans and rice.
We dug the half mile long model of the Mississippi River.
Didn't do the tour but a great "Kodak" spot.
9. Stax Museum of American Soul Music
Didn't do the tour. Good gift shop. A bit hard to find but there is signage on the highways. And there's always good ol' Mapquest. Another good "Kodak" spot.
Worth of visit if you're really interested in the history of rock.
