  • 1. JW Marriott Hotel Mumbai
JW Marriott Hotel Mumbai, Mumbai (Bombay), Maharashtra

This hotel is one of my favourites. The hotel is located in the posh suburb of Juhu. Many tourists tend to go and stay in the down town and main city area of Mumbai, located in South Mumbai. I feel that that area is noisier, polluted and have more traffic. Not to mention being further away from both the domestic and international airports.

The Marriot is well placed. It is located on Juhu Beach, nearby to many of Mumbai’s film personality’s houses. It’s located on a busy road, Juhu Tara Road, which Is a major road for the Juhu area. The Hotel has great access to shopping, night life and may entertainment complexes which have opened up. The hotel has its very own famous nightclub “enigma”, but many bars and clubs are in close proximity to the hotel i.e. on the Juhu Tara Road. There are many great restaurants inside the hotel, for example Mezo Mezo. Outside of the hotel, there are many great restaurants try out. McDonalds, Pizza Hut and Subway are on your door step. As is the famous buskins and robins.

Many big shopping malls have opened nearby, which are now competing with international shopping malls. In addition big multiplexes are located nearby to the hotel to catch the latest bollywood or Hollywood film!

  • 2. Le Royal Meridien Mumbai
Hilton Mumbai International Airport, Mumbai (Bombay), Maharashtra

Great food, accessible location and great services, what more could you ask for! This hotel is located very close to the Airports which serve Mumbai. This hotel has one of best hotel food in Mumbai. Every food is carefully tested and inspected using different technologies and methods! I mean after all many big international airlines use this hotel for the air crew!

Unlike its competitor hotels next door, namely the ITC Grand Maratha Sheraton, Intercontinental, Hyatt etc. This hotel is on a smaller scale. I think this is a advantage as it gives it that boutique feeling and a homely feel! The hotel has great spa and leisure facilities; its pool is big enough to cool down from the humid heat.

There are great evening entertainment, for example singers and bands from around the world playing the classical western numbers for guests. Despite being close to the airport, there are hardly any noise disturbances from landing and taking off aircrafts. Ina addition compared to other areas, the area is not congested with traffic and noise from horning cars etc.

I would choose this hotel for its close proximity to the airport. A great 5 star hotel offering guests everything.

  • 3. Taj Mahal Palace & Tower
The Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai (Bombay), Maharashtra

This is a landmark hotel for Mumbai, not to mention being close proximity to the major landmark attractions and tourist sights. I feel its not has modern as many of the new five star hotels which have been opening up over the last decade, but this is the advantage of the hotel. It keeps its old colonial charm, something which many hotels loose quickly, especially in a up and coming modern city like Mumbai.

The standards and services have not dropped; the hotel is favoured by many famous celebrities. For example Brad Pitt, English Cricket Team, Bill Gates and Richard Branson etc.

Being located in down town area, and opposite the gateway this area is a very touristy area, but is the real Mumbai!

  • 4. Renaissance Mumbai Hotel & Convention Centre
Renaissance Mumbai Convention Centre Hotel, Mumbai (Bombay), Maharashtra

Renaissance Mumbai Hotel is a great hotel, and provides some of the best services in the whole of Mumbai. The hotel lives up to its Marriot and Renaissance brand, which many few have in the world.

The location is not centre; it?s located in Powai, near the big lake. Its like a calm oasis for Mumbai. I feel its a perfect hotel to get away from the stress, pollution and congestion which the city brings. It?s a great place to get away from it all, with out living the city or travelling a huge distance. It?s around 30 minutes from the airport. The dining options in this hotel are amazing.

The 9 course meal is worth a try! Great infrastructure is also what you can expect from this grand hotel. All rooms are spacious and very comfy and cosy. The spa facilities are great as is the huge swimming pool. I won?t be surprised if we see a rise in number of hotels opening up in the future, in this area.

  • 5. The ITC Grand Sheraton Maratha Hotel Mumbai
ITC Maratha, Mumbai, Mumbai (Bombay), Maharashtra

This Hotel is named The ITC Grand Maratha Sheraton Hotel. And yes it is part of the great Sheraton chain of hotels. This has to be one of there best I feel. It is indeed a grand hotel with a grand experience. The architecture, interiors will leave you spell bound. The hotel is one of Mumbai’s biggest.

A great advantage is its close proximity to Mumbai’s domestic and international airports, Sahar Airport and Chatrapati Shivaji International Aiport. Its located in a calm area, and like I mentioned before for the Le Meridian Hotel, there is no noise or pollution from the airport and aircrafts.

Food within the hotel is an absolute must! There is such a variety and nearly every type of dish is available and cooked to perfection. The hotel is rather like a resort but without the beach! The pool is nice and provides a calm and cooling effect. There are also a number of bars and restaurants to choose from within.

Many of Mumbai’s A-listers and the Indian Film Industry regularly hold celebrations, weddings, conferences, film promotional events at this hotel. So don’t be surprised if you do spot an A list Celebrity walk past you! All in all I would rank this hotel the best airport hotel in Mumbai. But not only the best hotel, its also ranked as one of the overall top 5 places to stay in Mumbai!
