Outside, inside, all around the town. There's lots to see and do in Ottawa--especially in the spring.

Millions of them throughout the city, donated annually by Holland to thank us for our help during WWII. They are planted afresh every year and tended by the NCC
2. The Parliament Buildings
Beautiful buildings open for touring and guarded by our world-famous Mounties
3. Government House and Grounds
Home of our Governal General (the Queen's Representative) . Lawns and gardens are open to the public and especially beautiful this time of year
4. Canal boat ride
See the tulips from the water as you ride the Rideau Canal (World's longest outdoor skating rink in the winter)
5. Steam train to Wakefield
Cross the Ottawa river and take a ride through the Gatineau Hills to Wakefield about an hour away.
6. Diefenbunker
Canada's Cold War Museum in Carp. Take a guided tour through this 100,000 square foot bomb shelter deep underground.
7. Chutes Coulonge
The Niagara of Quebec! A leisurely drive along the Quebec side of the Ottawa River will bring you to this beautiful park where you can picnic, walk and learn about the history of logging.
8. Experimental farm
A large farm right in the heart of Ottawa dedicted to preserving our agricultural heritage. This is a favorite with children--especially the animal barns and the horse-drawn wagon ride.
9. The Byward Market
Sure to be bustling during the Festival and the summer. This a unique combination of Farmers' Market and a showplace for artisans. You are sure to be entertained by a variety of buskers too.
10. Upper Canada Village
In Morrisburg, an hour's drive south of Ottawa (oon the banks of the St. Lawrence), you will find this re-creation of an 1860's village. Wonderful place for families. Pets are welcome too!
