Since it's highly unlikely to meet a 'real' star in 'real' life, you can always chose to visit the dead celebrity hangouts.

1. Westwood Village Memorial Park
It is a small, intimate park, where the stars' graves are fairly easily located. You'll find Marilyn Monroe, Dean Martin, Walter Matthau and many, many more.
One word: gigantic. Great views of the Hollywood Sign and the back of Paramount Studios. Some of the most famous stars of "Old Hollywood' can be found here, Rudolph Valentino, Tyrone Power and Douglas Fairbanks only to name a few. The park provides a map to the stars' graves.
3. Holy Cross Cemetery
One of the most beautiful cemetaries with the final resting places of Bela Lugosi, Bing Crosby and Sharon Tate.
4. Self-Realization Fellowship Lake & Shrine
This is not a cemetary but a spiritual center that 'hosts' part of the ashes of Mahatma Gandhi.
5. Pacific View Memorial Park, Newport Beach
Final home to one of Hollywood's biggest stars: John Wayne.
6. Oakwood Memorial Park
It's a bit difficult to locate the stars' graves here without a map. Fortunately, the park provides maps if you ask. This park is the final resting place of Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire.
7. Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills
This huge park is located near Griffith Park and overlooks Disney, Warner Bros., and Universal Studios. Visitor can pick up a map at the information kiosk, it doesn't include directions to the graves but you'll need it to get around. You'll find the remains of: Bette Davis, Ricky Nelson, and Liberace.
8. Inglewood Park
Bette Grable and Ray Charles can be found here.
9. Forest Lawn Glendale
Forest Lawn does not encourage sightseeing by movie fans and most certainly does not hand out maps or gives directions. Many of the stars' tombs at Forest Lawn Glendale are private or semi-private. Some, such as Bogart's and Pickford's, provide no possible entry for the public. One can find the final resting places of: Clark Gable, Carole Lombard, James Stewart, Jean Harlow, Humphrey Bogart, Mary Pickford, Errol Flynn, Spencer Tracy and many more.
