For perfect location, absolutely gorgeous rooms, spotlessly maintained throughout, superb restaurants, stunning pool and gardens, delightful staff ... You just can't improve on perfection. Busakorn Wing is a delight but the whole hotel is brand newly renovated and stunning
2. Sabai Sabai
For delicious Thai food at a budget price, Sabai Sabai is fantastic. Try the Green Chicken Curry, Thai Tiger Prawns, Cucumber salad, Chicken Sate, Icecream in Pineapple .... yum! An absolute feast for six people including drinks will cost about US$30. It's located in the Post Office Street, Patong Beach
3. Other great places to eat
Delicious, cheap food is everywhere. Some of my favorites are, Sweet Restaurant, Sea Hag, Casanova and the gorgeous Busakorn restaurant in the Holiday Inn Hotel.
4. Entertainment
Simon Cabaret, even if they weren't boys, these "girls" put on an absolutely fantastic show, FantaSea is a must see show in a spectacular setting. Dino Park mini golf - absolute fun for all ages. Superb beaches dot the island too.
5. Shopping
An amazing array of quality produce from designer copies to hand made artifacts. Street Market along Patong Beach - bargaining is essential. Central is an awesome complex. Big C, Lotus, Patong Town's Robinson ... all excellent shopping
6. Transport
Tuk Tuk's (open "golf buggies") are fun and cheap. $1 for a ride locally. Hire them for a day (with driver) for about $20 for up to 8 people to go to all the shops (the driver will wait and look after your shopping) or to see all the sights.
7. Sightseeing
Going over the mountain from Phuket Town to Patong Beach is like a roller coaster with great views and a drive along the coast is bursting with spectacular scenery. The Laguna area is worth a look, take the free boat ride and stop for a peek at each hotel. An Elephant Trek in the Phang Nga National Forest is a day trip that you'll never forget.
