Destin Trip with the Kids

We just got back from Destin. I have 2 boys ages 12 and 8. We live in Houston and recently had a great time in Galveston surfing the waves with our Boogie Boards. We decided to drive to Florida for a week trip to experience blue water.

The trip was great. We brought Boogie Boards, towels, and umbrella to withstand the sun all day. If we go again, we will also bring folding chairs, our fishing net, snorkle gear, and a computer. The ocean and bay side should both be visited. We did have waves on the ocean side, but that is not always guaranteed. The Bay was great for crabbing and trying our throw net.

Make time to visit the Marina around 4 or 5 so you can see the catch the boats bring in. Fisherman's Wharf has outside seating that overlooks the pier. They will cook fish you catch for $10 too.
