1. Jeep Safari
The jeep safari is run by many of the places offering excursions. It is a fun and exciting day out. If you decide to go make sure you invest in some water pistols as you set off in a convoy of jeeps and everyone else will be armed!! You visit several interesting places including 'Jesus beach' (so named as you can literally walk on water!), waterfalls and the 'wish tree'. A lovely bbq lunch is also included. This is well worth doing!!!
2. Rovers Return Restaurant
This was our favourite place to eat and drink in the evenings. The food wasn't as cheap as elsewhere but still very reasonable and was absolutely delicious (try the rovers chicken!) We have never tasted food as nice as the meals we had there! The staff are very friendly and there is a free pool table and also a swimming pool that is open for anyone to use. This place is fantastic!!
3. Atlantis Waterpark (Aqua Park)
Atlantis Waterpark (Aqua Park), Marmaris, Mugla Province
Atlantis aqua park is definately worth a visit! We went there twice on our holiday! There is a great selection of slides to suit both adults and children and there is a wave pool which is activated four times during the day. The food sold there is lovely and there are photographers around all day and you can have you pictures taken and developed on the spot. We purchased our tickets from one of the places offering excursions as this works out alot cheaper than paying at the gate.
4. Ichmeler Market
Ichemler market is huge and is open on a wednesday! It is only a short bus journey away from Marmaris. The buses are very easy to catch (you just stick your hand out when you see one coming), and they run every few minutes. It only cost 1.75 lira from marmaris to ichmeler. Be warned, the market is no place to go if you don't like being hassled because you won't be left alone! However, you can pick up some great things very cheap there but make sure you barter! Also be careful to keep your eye on whats happening as for example, we purchased five pairs of socks and got home to discover that he had only put four in the bag!! Also try to have the right money as some are reluctant to give you your change! It is worth a visit though! Marmaris also has a market every thursday which is along the same lines but of a slightly smaller scale.
