Beautiful Gardens inside of Piedmont Park, Atlanta. Typically teams up with Artists to display art, and sculptures in the garden. Great place for a nice walk, or to take Children (they have their own garden).
Go. It doesn't matter what is playing, this is a goregous theatre. The ceiling looks like you are outdoors (clouds actually drift by), and the walls look like a Moorish City. Sit upstairs or downstairs, out from under the loge, to get the maximum effect of this beautiful theatre. The bathrooms are also gems- incredibly beautiful.
In the summertime, they play old classic movies, and a grand organ comes out of the stage pre-show for a sing along.
Southern food at its best. Near the fox theatre, you won't be dissapointed.
Order the milkshakes. This 50's retro diner is incredibly fun, and you are guaranteed great southern food. Huge selection, eclectic art.
This is an incredible experience. I would recommend considering a weekday if possible. Weekends are crowded. You should consider purchasing tickets before you come, since they limit the amount of tickets sold each day.
6. Fernbank Museum of Natural History
Dinosaurs! IMAX! Great outdoor park just outside.
This has great outdoor shopping, with all the major department stores. It also has great places for lunch, and a movie theatre.
8. Virginia Higlands
Shopping, eating, theatre, spas, nightlife- safe and fun. We like Pura Vida (tapas), Surin (Thai), Key Lime Pie (spa).
Yum! Costa Rican Tapas. Intimate atmosphere, excellent food at good prices.
This is a play on words. Excellent seafood, and directly across from our cemetary, Oakland.
11. Oakland Cemetary
Beautiful Old cemetary in the heart of Atlanta. Come see where Bobby Jones and Margaret Mitchell are buried. The architecture is stunning, and the guided tours, informative and interesting. Great walk!
Tour tickets can be presented at Six Feet Under, a great seafood restaurant across the street for a discount.
