1. Fort Recovery Beachfront Villa Hotel & Resort

The best "resort" on the island hands down. This isn't your typical "stay and never leave" resort either. It has out of this world Villa rooms with all the amenities one could ever need and sits right on a beach with amazing views. There is an excellent Spa there with more than friendly staff found throughout, swimming pool, a great restaurant for breakfast and dinner and the oldest Fort in the entire Caribbean right on the property. Everyone who dreams of waking up to the sounds of the surf and wants only to walk out their door to meet the sea there, this is your place! The hotel's also been in existence longer than any other on the island and has warm and friendly staff who go out of their way to do almost anything you ask. |

| The perfect spot for a day trip either via ferry from Tortola, or if you're already staying on Virgin Gorda grab a taxi and enjoy! Volcanic boulders form caves and pools of sea water separating two spectacular beaches. There is a great lunch at the top of the trail leading down to the Bath's called "Top of the Bath's" as well as a beach bar on the beach itself. The Cave's are excellent to explore, not difficult to traverse with little pools of sea water inside to swim in, boulders to climb on and short nature trails in between. The Bath's is a must see when coming to the BVI and will surely be the highlight of anyone's trip! |

| Patouche charters are a great sailing company to work with for either a half day or full day charter around the BVI islands. Since the BVI is renown for sailing, anyone who enjoys it must surely do it while visiting. Visit locations such as Green Cay or Sandy Cay for excellent snorkeling, Jost Van Dyke for a day of lounging, exploring, dining and swimming, Norman Island's Willy-T ship for that on the water unique dining and drinking experience and the Cave's and the Indians again for terrific snorkeling. |

4. The Sugar Mill Restaurant

| One of the best fine dining and romantic restaurants on the island, was also featured in Gourmet Magazine. Set in an old and romantic sugar mill, with some of the most delectable food you'll find while in the BVI. |

| The most beautiful and peaceful beach in the BVI hands down. This pristine beach with crystal clear waters, beautiful white sands, calm sea, amazing views and serene atmosphere is out of this world. Pack a picnic lunch and prepare to spend a few hours or a full day on this great beach located on the Northern end of Tortola (approx a 15minute drive from West End). |

7. Sage Mountain National Park

| This location on Sage Mountain offers a number of trails for visitors to hike and a decent restaurant at it's entrance with 360 degree aerials of the islands. The trails are beautiful with very nice foliage, views and an easy-moderate level of difficulty hike. |

8. The Botanical Gardens, Tortola
|
|
| Visiting the Botanical Gardens is a good way to spend an hour or two when exploring Tortola. There are a huge amount of exotic plants and local foliage to be found there. |

9. Casual Dining

|
| There are a lot of restaurants on the island, almost all open air, for casual and simple dining all family friendly with broad menus. These restaurants include but are not limited to: Jolly Roger's and Pusser's Landing (West End), Pusser's (Road Town), Village Cay (Road Town), Fat Hog Bob's (East End), C&F Restaurant (Road Town), Island's Restaurant (Little Apple Bay), The Pub (Road Town), Oscar's (West End), Myett's (CGB), Quito's Restaurant (CGB), Skyworld (Sage Mountain), The Dove (Road Town), The Secret Garden (Main street road town, great coffee), Bobby's Supermarket (has a buffet take-away lunch which is very good, Road Town) and many more. |

10. Island Tour

| It's good for anyone who visits to take a full tour of the island and either drive themselves around for a few hours, or hire a taxi and tell them what you're interested in doing. The views are lovely from the mountains and there are many shops and areas of interest in Road town such as the BVI Folk Museum and Colombian Emeralds International as well as a slue of local shops on main street. Driving around the island and road town is a great way to go with the flow on your trip and find odds and ends and places off the beaten path to explore and visit. |

11. Bomba's Surfside Shack

|
| The best nightlife on the island is at Bomba's Shack on Thurs, Fri nights and most importantly their monthly Full Moon Parties. Amazing live music, bbq, drinks and people watching, this is the social scene of Tortola! The charm of Bomba's is in that it is literally a shack that Bomba put together from pieces of drift wood and other odds and ends that he's found over the years. |

| If you go to Tortola or Jost Van Dyke during New Year's, this is the best location to be, though may be difficult to moor if you plan on sailing there yourself. There's a ferry that runs to JVD frequently and the party that occurs on New Year's is massive, famous celebrities from Oprah to Mick Jagger to Adam Sandler have attended in the past and the festivities are spectacular. Foxy's is also a great hangout any time of the year as well, with a great bar, food, hammocks to lay in , swimming and occasionally Foxy himself will play you a tune on his guitar. |
