Wake up in the center of historical Sevilla at this classic Andulusian hotel. Its 18th century courtyard is a delightful retreat on hot Southern Spanish afternoons.
2. Morning tour of the Santa Cruz Barrio.

Get yourself lost in this maze of historical buildings and cobble stoned streets. Sevilla's oldest neighborhood is sure to attract you with its distinctive charm.
3. La Giralda and the Cathedral

The tower of the cathedral, la Giralda, took several centuries to build and was constructed with stone from the Roman city of Italica. It is a perfect vantage point to see the city from above. Inside the Cathedral, the largest gothic structure in the world, you'll find the tomb of Christopher Columbus. Note that shorts and T-shirts are not allowed in the cathedral.
4. Have lunch at a real Tapas Bar.
Walk across the San Telmo Bridge across the Guadalquivir River into Triana and take a right onto Calle Betis. This riverside street is filled with colorful and fun eateries. Also walk to the Plazuela Santa Ana, two blocks away from the river, midway between the bridges. Taberna la Plazuela is a typical lunch stop for Sevillanos and the neighboring restaurant Bistec serves grilled fish specialities, the building is worth a look inside for its exquisit decor and traditional feel.
5. Royal Alcazar Palace and Gardens

Breathtakingly beautiful palace and garden structures, showcasing a mix of Moorish and Christian architectures. A great retreat from the spite of the summer heat.
6. Plaza de Espana
Plaza de Espana, Seville, Andalusia
This fairytale plaza was bulit for the 1929 Spanish-American Exhibition. Its semicircular shape is lined with beautiful tilework, each section representing a different area of Andalusia. Great place to sunbathe and people watch.
7. Parque de Maria Luisa

Extensive park right across the street from the Plaza de Espana. Great for walks, jogging or horse carriage rides.
8. University of Sevilla
University of Seville, Seville, Andalusia
This impressive building constructed from marble, was built in the 15th century. Walking through the hallways of this former tobacco factory, it's easy to understand why Bizet chose this structure as the backdrop for his opera "Carmen".
9. Dinner at a 15th century palace, Taberna de la Labardero

The ambiance and the high quality of food makes this place one of the top restaurants in Sevilla. Lunch in the downstairs café is fancy yet affordable, and the upstairs dining is formal and quite expensive.
10. Flamenco

Small Flamenco venue with nightly shows. Experience the fervor of this musical and cultural form of expression.
11. Local hangout in Barrio Santa Cruz

Hard to find bar on Calle Levies. Look for the red door, no sign posted. Order a jarra (pitcher) of sangria and sit outside under the giagantic rubber palm, and bamboo trees. Live flamenco, blues, or jazz starts around midnight, feel free to play the piano in the front room.
