Visiting this land of Kuna Indians will take you twenty centuries back into the past . The most frequently visited site is the community of Porvenir, The hub of the San Blas Region. Some companies offer charters or regular flights.Hotels and restaurants are available on most of the islands. These restaurants offer seafood freshly fished daily by the Indians. A place full of culture and History .How to get there
By car from Panama City, in about an hour and thirty minutes on the Transisthmian Highway. You can also take a plane from Albrook to France Field (Colon) for about 15 minutes followed by a 40-minute ride.).Portobelo itself is a typical coastal village with hotels and restaurants serving local food. Diving equipment, jet-skis and boats can be rent with guide services. In Portobelo you can tour the historical monuments with specialized guides or native residents, enjoy the rich Afro-colonial fare and learn the infectious Congo dance of the Afro-Caribbean's.
Divers can find one of the best reef areas on the Caribbean coast, with the added advantage that it is not very deep and close to the coast. The are several diving schools. there you should go to punta galeta too.

  • 8. isla Coiba

It contains samples of insular, marine and coastal ecosystems. A diversity of flora and fauna besides scenic beauty and almost virgin nature. How to get there
From Panama City you can take a plane to Santiago (30 minutes) in the province of Veraguas or by car in 4 hours (245 kilometers or 140 miles). Once in Santiago you have to make a 25 km. drive to Puerto Mutis where you take a boat to the island (between 2 to 6 hours depending on the weather and on the type of boat). The variety of activities available in this park is small, but we are sure that you will have a great time. You can go fishing, diving, snorkeling, bird watching, and hiking and enjoy the beautiful flora and fauna. The beaches have very fine sands and the waters are crystal clear, especially near Playa Damas and Playa Blanca on Coiba, but also on the islands of Granito de Oro, Ranchería, Uvas and Contreras. These islands are so popular and internationally famous because of the big Blue and Black Marlins that have been caught around here. On some of the beaches of the islands, turtles come to nest between April and September, which is only one of the attractions for nature lovers besides flora, fauna and bird watching. This is the only place in Panama where you can find whole troops of red Guacamayas. Coiba is beautiful!!.
