A must visit if in Amsterdam. It pays tribute to Anne Frank and her family who hid in the attic, which has now been converted into a museum of sorts. It's a very moving experience.
Take a stroll through the red light district any time of day or night. Try not to be shocked by the sights in the windows, and all the live shows that are available. A real eye opener!
3. Scheveningen, Den Haag (The Hague)
It is the beach area of The Hague. Great pier & promenade with plenty of restaurants and shops! Accessible by tram from the central station.
4. Maastricht
Visit this beautiful medieval city. Great architecture, massive town square that has a market some days, river Maas. As an alternative, you could try Den Bosch ('s Hertogenbosch) which is another charming city with a big market in the town square.
Try to go on a Friday morning when the have the cheese market in the main square. Interesting to see.
Another lovely old town. Nice to sit by the river and watch the ships go past, or do some shopping in the split levelled city centre.
7. Vondelpark/Museum/Leidse
All within close proximity of each other in Amsterdam. Sit back and relax in Leidseplein at one of the nearby hash cafe's, or watch sport on the big screens at the bars & restaurants there. Take a walk (or rollerblade/cycle) through Vondelpark, which is 2 mins from Leidseplein, or visit the Rijksmuseum or Van Gogh Museum, which are 5mins walk from Leidseplein.
