Picturesque village with preserved medieval spirit in the centre of town.
2. Bagni di Bormio Spa Resort - Vecchie Terme
Specifically, make sure you visit the Old Spa, or Vecchie Terme Romane. It's a one-of-a-kind, unique place that will help you relax in more ways than you can imagine. The sheer beauty of the ancient setting, its tradition and the way it's been preserved since Roman times will take your breath away. Bormio is only about 30 km distant from Livigno and the journey to it is in itself breathtaking, as you cross several mountain passes.
3. St. Moritz
Beautiful town only about 50 km from Livigno. The trip to it is in itself a treat, as you pass some stunning Alpine scenery and cannot help pulling over the car every 5 minutes to take pictures. St Moritz is truly classy without being over the top, with wonderful architecture and good restaurants serving local cuisine, not to forget fantastic shops. The lake provides a beautiful setting in summer, with its shimmering, brilliant surface and manicured, spotless paths around the lake.
4. Glarenzo (Glaurens), Italy
Wonderfully picturesque and vibrant medieval town about an hour's drive from Livigno, in the direction of Merano. It boasts perfectly preserved medieval town walls. The main square bustles with activity, with hundreds of tourists, cyclists and bikers milling about, and quaint little shops selling local produce.
5. Parco Nazionale dello Stelvio
A wide natural preserve bordering with Livigno and stretching all the way to Bormio in the east and the Swiss frontier to the north-east of Livigno, encompassing several stunning mountain passes. Perfect for walking, trekking and cycling in the warmer months.
