Ask questions about Calgary on Trip Advisor Calgary Forum to some great experts and me too.
12. Waterton Lakes National Park
Worth the 2.5 hour drive to southern Alberta. There is one part where you can sit by a calm lake in Alberta and see the mountains that are in the USA and also in British Columbia.
An interesting point of interest with an interpretive trail and museum which depicts the lifestyle of the natives in southern Alberta.
More so the drive through Kananaskis Country is unique with it's lakes. Less traffic than the national parks and great camping and picnic sites. One could also take the Spray Lakes drive along the south towards Canmore and then onward to Banff.
15. Banff
Ask the experts about Banff Park and all that it has to offer. A lot too see, so spend a few days.
16. Jasper
Jasper National park has a completely different scenic outlook than Banff. Must see Mt. Edith Cavell and Angel Glacier. You cannot miss Columbia Icefields on your trip up to Jasper from Banff.
An ecclectic group of shops such as coffee and cafes. Catch the Sun and Salsa festival on a Sunday in late July.
