I was in Sri Lanka in may 2008 for two weeks.
I was really surprised of such a beautiful country, especially because I thogut it was likes in Maldives, with no mountain: i never was such wrong!
it's beautiful because it's a "Continent in a Country": you have seaside, you have hills, you have mountains, you have rain forest but also desert

5. Adam's Peak

(2243m) I don't like to wake up early in the morning, but this times if you really want to enjoy a wonderful panorama you have to start before the sun is shining (and it's easier because it's not that hot).
6. Dambulla Cave Temple

to enter in the 5 caves you need a ticket (500 Rs), it's allowded to take picture, but not of praying people. At the top you have a wonderful view of the landscape.
7. Citadel of Sigiriya - Lion Rock

it's very nice it takes about 2 hours. don't buy thing with you on the way top, because it's an obstruction, tell the people tha you will buy it at the way down (if you really want to buy it)

Very clean and overlooking the see.
