Step Back into a Past Era, Vist the famous thatched village in the middle of Torquay and only one mile from the sea and have a day to remember
They call this lovely village the Jewel in Torquay's Crown and it really is.
When you arrive in the center of the village the first thing to do is have a horse and carriage ride around the Lakes with all the flowers in bloom and if your lucky enough to get Rick in the blue carraige you will get to hear the history of the village as well,arriving at Cockington Court which used to be the manor House but is now a Craft Center, you will find many different crafts including a Pottery, Glass Blowing, Blacksmith, Woodturner, Patchwork Quilting.
Now visit the beautiful little Church next door you won't be disappointed.
Next stroll around the cricket pitch (if your lucky there might be a game going on as there is most days in the summer) and stop at the local Pub if your that way inclined if not better still carry on into the village center where you will find Rose Cottage.
ROSE COTTAGE. is a special place one that you won't forget in a hurry it is a Tea garden set in lovely gardens with a pond and also the old stocks are here so get the camera out. While you sit and eat your huge cream tea with scones straight from the oven you will here the piano playing and think you are in Heaven
Next Retail Therepy. With your tummy full stroll across the road to THE OLD SCHOOL HOUSE which is now a shop this was built in the 1600's and is now a wonderful shop full of great gifts and souveniers and just the best icecream and the staff can't do enough for you.
Last but not Least. The Old Forge this is the most famous thing in Cockington so you must visit this
Cockington is a Country Park and covers 450 acres and includes some lovely walks and is a dog owners paradise
This is the new attraction that ajoins Cockington and has only just opened in April it has a farm shop and cafe selling all local produce
There is also an outdoor theater that performs once a week in the summer, Ghost Walks, Bat evenings, a FAIR on the 1st Wednesday in August, and lots of free childrens days at the Gamekeepers Cottage where they do all sorts of creative things.
