based on 2 votes
I spent 10 days in Bali last year (2008), with 8 of those being in Ubud. Here's a list of my favorite activities while I was there.

Gorgeous Balinese style bungalows that are budget minded (starting at USD $20), beautiful gardens, and close to the Monkey Forest.

|
Join a trekking tour to hike Gunung Batur (leaving at 3AM!) and reach the summit at sunrise, for goregous views.

A must see in Ubud, though be careful of getting to close to the free-roaming macaques.

A friend described this as a spiritual experience, and I tend to agree. Not too many tourists at this temple, surprisingly, but a lot of locals.

I used Bali Eco and Educational Tours, stated to be the oldest outfitter in Ubud. All around fab experience- great for small kids, and more experienced cyclers as well. You get to see some awesome scenery and visit some small villages along the way.

6. Traditional Balinese Healing Center

If you've read "Eat, Pray, Love", by Elizabeth Gilbert, then the Vitamin Lunch will appeal to you.

Atmospheric restaurant, where you can dine sitting on pillows in your own little pavillion. Beautiful gardens, and good food too.

My favorite restaurant in Ubud! Located along the small strip of restaurants facing the football field. Great (european style) food, and popular with locals. Expect impromptu live music and guitar playing, and incredibly friendly people.
