St. Louis has an amazing list of free attractions. If you're walking or on a bike, you can easily fill up a weekend without spending a dime. (Most have free parking, so we suggest you go ahead and drive...)
Okay, it's not free to ride to the top, but the architecture's the thing, and great fun to explore the grounds, admire and stand in awe of this beautiful structure.
This museum underneath the arch explains the purpose for the memorial and some of history of this important gateway city. There is also a free film on the construction of the arch that's definitely worth catching.
