Hidden Gems Disney

I am often asked my favorite ride or attraction at each of the Disney Theme Parks. And, the topic not uncommon in the Orlando Forum. Here's a short list of my one favorite thing at each of the parks beyond the popular attractions.

1. Magic Kingdom
Magic Kingdom, Orlando
Tomorrowland Transit Authority.

Jump on the unique ramped escalator beneath the Astro Orbiter in Tomorrowland and board your 4 seat compartment for a leisurely ride in the sky above Tomorrowland. A welcome respite after a long day. Rest your weary feat and enjoy unique views of the Magic Kingdom including Cinderella's Castle, Tomorrowland attractions, and even ride past an early architectural model of EPCOT. "Paging Mr. Morrow. Mr. Tom Morrow." Love it!
2. Epcot Center

Living with the Land.

One of my favorite attractions in all of Disney. Sadly, I believe it goes unnoticed by many making the mad dash to Soarin'. This attraction is in The Land. Take a narrated boat ride through rain forest, desert, and plains before voyaging through remarkable greenhouses and a fish farm. Eating at a Disney restaurant? Some of your food may have come from here! Due to the seasonality of the plants / fruits / vegetables things change from trip to trip. You may even see them growing Mickey Eared Pumpkins.
3. Disney's Hollywood Studios

Post Show Sound Booths.

In the Echo Lake area, head over to the exit of Sounds Dangerous - Starring Drew Carey. Enter the post show interactive area from the street and choose one of the closed doors in the corner with a green light. Slap on the headphones, close your eyes and be taken on an audio adventure. The short presentation utilizes binaural audio technology. Huh? It means it's really cool! The scissors cutting hair gets me every time. How do they do that?!? Similar concept inside the Sounds Dangerous theater but I much prefer the story line and intimate booths at the exit. This one is super easy to miss.
4. Disney's Animal Kingdom

Discovery Island Trails.

You see it when enter into the main part of the park from the Oasis. The Tree of Life. But how many take some real time to marvel at it? Stroll along all of the paths around the Tree of Life and linger a little. It's magnificent. And, there are a lot of animals on that thing! 14 stories, 50 feet wide, 325 animals. See if you can find the living ones too. If you're attentive you might find the spot where the kangaroos like to rest. And be on the look out for a Hidden Mickey. "Is the Tree of Life real?" Of course it is!!! You can see it can't you.
5. At The Resorts
Explore The Resorts.

Take some time to visit some of the beautiful Disney Resorts. Some of the best dining option are to be found here as well. For a nice time with youngsters, grab a boat from Magic Kingdom to Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. The ride itself is enjoyable and scenic. Upon arrival, head to Tri-Circle-D Ranch. Check out the horse barn, farm and pony rides. Stop in at Crockett's Tavern for a cool drink and enjoy it in a chair outside Pioneer Hall while the little ones play on the playground. Or, relax on the beach. Kids older or no kids at all? Try a Sea Raycer boat rental and cruise Bay Lake and the Seven Seas Lagoon on your own. Crafts can be rented at a variety of Resort locations including Fort Wilderness.
