  • 1. The Movieum
The London Film Museum - South Bank, London, England

If you love Dr Who, Starwars, Harry Potter or many more of the British films and televisions series - you don't want to miss this place. The children love it and even in summer this attraction is not busy. It is on the Southbank so lots of other attractions surround this one. Entrance fee is not too steep and the staff are very friendly and helpful. My children are 4 & 10 - both remember their visit with excitement. Great for those of us who remember Thunderbirds, lived through James Bond, get excited about Dr Who and can step back in time.

  • 2. Natural History Museum
    Natural History Museum, London, England

Entry is free, plenty of grass to have a picnic on and awesome for a family with kids. Located in South Kensington (with easy tube travel to and from) this is a day out for the family to remember. The weekends are very busy with the dinosaurs being very busy indeed. Lots to see, plenty of things for the kids to touch and try (especially in the green section). Well worth some time.

  • 3. St. James's Park
    St. James's Park, London, England

On a summers day this is the perfect place to be. Plenty of tourists and locals out in the sun. Lovely place for a picnic or just some down time between attractions. If you have children they get to run around without you having a fit they are doing something wrong.

  • 4. HMS Belfast
    HMS Belfast, London, England

If your boys or man is so inclined this is a wonderful tour to do around the Tower of London.

  • 5. Tower of London
    Tower of London, London, England

Interesting place to visit and ideal for the family touring London. Lots of places to sit and contemplate. Not sure it wouldnt be a little depressing if it was winter or raining. Stop for the shows outside who can add a bit of good old british humour to your day. Plenty of sites you can walk to from here and easy tube travel or bus travel.

  • 6. Trafalgar Square
    Trafalgar Square, London, England

Well worth a night time visit either for the shows and a meal or just a meal. A happening place in London. Easy tube travel to and from.
