    nearby places of interest include largs and the annual viking festival, the islands of bute and cumbrae and the cowal penninsulas which all host annual highland games and music weekends from may till august, greenock is also a port of call for the famous waverly paddle steamer and its cruises, nearby inverkip is home to one of scotlands premier marinas for the boating elite and home to the shaw stewart family and their fantastic country estate and manor house which offers exclusive accomodation and counrty activities
