    Westminster, London, England

You will find plenty to see in the Westminster area. Start with breakfast in your hotel or at one of the many small cafes that adorn London's streets. Wander down the mall to Buckingham Palace, stroll through the beautiful St James Park. Stand on the bridge overlooking Horse Guards Parade and you will find yourself a fairy tale view that seems far removed from the bustle of city traffic. Walk past Big Ben and Parliament (check opening times for tours) and Westminster Abbey. A visit to the Cabinet War Rooms is fascinating and gives an insight in to how Churchill ran the war from his bunker. Walk back down the mall towards Trafalgar square and marvel at Nelson's column. From there the shops and market of Covent Garden are a short walk away. FInish the day by eating at one of the many diverse restaurants in London.

  • 3. Hampstead
    Hampstead, London, England

Take a leisurely bus ride or tube journey to this famous North London suburb. There's time for shopping and having brunch whilst watching the people walk by. Wander through the characterful streets and admire the architecture. Take a walk across Hampstead Heath. If you feel like a civilised end to the day, think of stopping at Claridges, near Bond Street on the way home for a pot of tea or a cocktail.
