Great family hotel..or for anyone really. It is affordable, brand new, right on the beach close to many shops, bars and restaurants. The restaurant is great and very affordable. The bar is nice, and the there is an old fashioned ice cream shop inside, as well as rocking chairs for the back porch. You expect to pay a lot more for this hotel than you do..and it is not like the other hotels in the area..It has charm! |

2. River House Restaurant
|
|
| Beautiful old house-turned restaurant right on The New River..in the heart of all the action (bars, shops, musuems). Sunday brunch is the perfect way to spend your last day in Ft Lauderdale |

| Ever since I can remember..if anyone came to visit us in Ft Lauderdale, we had to go on the Jungle Queen riverboat! It really is fun if you have never gone...The boat leaves from Ft Lauderdale Beach/Intracoastal..and takes you through the waterways by all the mansions..and I mean Mansions! You get the history of the area and other stories..it is relaxing, and they take you to a Seminole Indian reserve where you can see birds, wildlife, gardens, alligator wrestling etc..takes you back to "old florida". |

| If you happen to be craving BBQ...check this place out..It is very close to the main area in Lauderdale..from the beach or hotel you will need to take a car..but great no frills BBQ..They have a sign that says "In God we trust..all others pay cash!"..so bring cash...also, they are closed on Sunday for church and Monday for fishin'..so Saturday would be the best day to go..Reasonable prices..$5-$10 per person. Great sweet tea! |

| Nice stroll..lots of shops...boutique and unique..the mall in the area is about 2 miles from here ..called The Galleria (has Saks, Dillards, Neiman Marcus, Macy's and the regular shops like Gap)..If you come to Lauderdale, you have to say you strolled Las Olas! Kilwin's ice cream is nice.. |
