If you are not into skiing or long museum visits, these four cities offer some often overlooked alternative attractions. Avoid crowds and tourist traps, but still have a great time.

1. Marc Chagall in Zurich

If you are a Chagall's fan, don't miss his stunning stained-glass windows in the Fraumunster church.
2. Funky Right Bank in Zurich
Niederdorf, Switzerland, Europe
A cooler alternative to Bahnholfstrasse's expensive shopping, Niederdorf has cutting-age boutiques and cafes behind the medieval facades.
3. Very Parisian in Zurich

You don't have to eat sauerkraut every day. Brasserie Lipp on Uraniastrasse looks so much like the original on Bd Saint-Germain, and seafood there is fresh and delicious.
4. Cross Kapellbrucke in Lucerne

OK, this one is listed in all guidebooks. But you just have to cross this old covered bridge and admire its frescos. When you emerge onto Bahnhofstrasse, take in the best view of old Lucerne.
5. Which Mountain in Interlaken?
Harder Kulm, Interlaken, Bernese Oberland
If you don't feel like taking a long obligatory train trip to Jungfraujoch, take a funicular to Harder Kulm. It takes only 8 minutes to get to the viewing platform, and the views are fantastic. There are some good hiking trails on the mountain.
