Itinerary Planning & Sightseeing Priority

  • Category: Perfect week or more
  • 1. Bernese Oberland
    http://www.livingamused.com/2010/08/10/plan-vacation-switzerland-itine...

An absolute must on any traveler's list of Swiss destinations to visit. Surround yourself with soaring mountain peaks, amazing landscapes, fresh air and tiny car-free villages. Bike, Hike, Walk, Relax, Ride Cable Cars/Gondolas, Cog Wheel Trains, Ferries...
Many places to stay at but do try to pick one of small mountain villages. Wengen or Murren are great choices. Click the above link for more details.

  • 2. Lucerne
    http://www.livingamused.com/2010/08/10/plan-vacation-switzerland-itine...

Lucerne or Luzern might be the most beautiful major city you ever come across. Mountains, lovely lake, historic bridges, pretty Old Town, museums, entertainment & music festivals, great restaurants and a central location to top it all...Luzern got all that. Stay 2-3 full days. Click the above link to read more.

  • 3. Lake Geneva
    http://www.myswitzerland.com/en/travel/getting_around/traveling-by-tra...

While not as charming as Bernese Oberland region, Lake Geneva is pretty enough to include in your itinerary and the Golden Pass route starts/ends in Montreau (click above link). Stay at Montreux, Vevey or Lausanne and take a day trip to Gruyere or ride the Chocolate Train if you wish. Visit the famous Chateau de Chillion.

  • 4. St. Moritz & Lugano
    http://traintickets.myswitzerland.com/train-faq/european-trains/bernin...

Do visit the charming town of St. Moritz, especially if you happen to be there off-season and take the Bernina Express train/bus (click the above link) to Lugano. Scenery is amazing. A night in Lugano is sufficient. Take a ferry ride on the Lake and visit a small lake town or two.
