The 9 course tasting menu is beautifully done, and service is impeccable. This is a spot you'll remember forever, and a spurge for a very special romantic occasion. Another Michelin 3 Star treat that is wonderful in every way. Make your reservations 2 months in advance so you can be assured of getting a table. $275 price per person including tip is steep though, so be prepared!

Gorgrous setting overlooking the Lake for this beautifully run, extremely comfortable, luxury boutique hotel. Stay in the spacious top floor 'Whiteface Suite' or the cozy lakefront cottage 'MacIntyre'. Lots of activities to do while you are there, and the service is friendly and helpful. When the weather is nice, enjoy a romantic breakfast, lunch or dinner on the covered patio that overlooks the Lake. • 6. Twin Farms
    Twin Farms, Barnard, Vermont

Luxury, privacy and great service at this over-the-top, all inclusive 20 room luxury boutique, immacualtely maintained property. Meadow Cottage is delightful, and when/if they add an attached covered jacuzzi room outside, it'll be even more special. This is a movie star's dream for seclusion and exclusivity, so don't expect a great value here - just expect stratospheric prices to reflect that.

    The Mount, Lenox

If you love to read and are a fan of her books and the movies such as 'Age of Innocence', pay an hour or two visit to Edith Wharton's home and the 3 acre formal gardens. You have to park about 1/2 of a mile away from the house, so be sure to bring your walking shoes.

An absolute delight of a place, where you are pampered from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave. Oddles of amenities, great service, a truly special romantic escape and worth every penny. Try 'Paterson Suite' or 'The Blue Room' in the main house. The spa is wonderful and they even have a covered, heated indoor pool, as well as the pool outside!

  • 9. Nudel Restaurant
    Nudel Restaurant, Lenox

Tiny 24 seat restaurant with delicious food, and surprisingly inexpensively priced. They don't take reservations, so get there ar least 15 minutes before the 5:30 dinner opening, or you won't be able to get a table for another hour. Chef really knows his stuff, and the locals love it here.
