Places I like in Santa Barbara

This place will always hold a special spot in my heart - my husband proposed to me on the breakwall here looking out over the ocean. The food is good, the drinks are stiff and the atmosphere is fun. We love to eat here year around.

My favorite beach - great spot to hang out with the family or enjoy the views. We come here often during the summer to swim and build sand castles. It has a big parking lot, so you can always find a spot. In the winter we like to use the play structure. Our kids love this beach.

Might be a little bias on this one - as it is my husband's company. But I really do think they offer the best trips in town with incredible guides. Locals and tourists have been kayaking, biking and climbing with SBACo for over 12 years.

Great spot for lunch or dinner. This is a locals secret - plus live music several evening a week. Don't miss the pies and cakes - yum!

If you want a quick and affordable tour of town, I think the Land Shark is your best bet. For under $30 they will show you a nice slice of SB and even take you out to sea.

This great little zoo is always a winner with families. Elephants, lemurs, gorillas and lions! Plus a fun little train for the kids to ride. Bring a picnic lunch if you can, the food might leave something to be desired.

When you have a babysitter or are traveling without the kids, make reservations at Bouchon. For a fine dining experience that you will talk about for weeks, Bouchon is always a best bet. Wonderful food and wine. Love it.
