1. Children's Museum of Houston
The BEST children's museum in the US. There are different sections for age levels. The staff is very helpful and friendly.
2. The Breakfast Klub
THE place to get breakfast in Midtown. There's always a line, but don't worry it moves quickly. Everythig is great - french toast, grits, and bacon - oh the BACON! Great for people watching too. Super friendly staff and patrons.
3. Houston Zoo
Kids love this place. Lots of wide open spaces to run while visiting animals of every kind. A wonderful to place to hold a birthday party. The staff is top notch. The kids zoo is great and the carsosal is a work of art.
Actually located on Galveston Island. A great place for kids. There's a butterly exhibit, IMAX and beach play area.
5. Mama's Cafe
Downhome breakfast and lunch meals. Great, cheap kids menu. Not fancy. But the service is good and the price is right.
6. Hermann Park
Near the zoo and museums. Outdoor water park area. Lots of swings. There's even a big hill for kids to run on. Olde tyme train rides plus special free events in the summer at the Millers Outdoor theater. Centrally located in Houston.
7. Houston Museum of Natural Science
Great learning experience. IMAX, butterfly exhibit and planterium.
