No, I am not talking about Portofino and Cinque Terre. Technically, they are not in Tuscany. I mean the Versilia coast. A perfect place to recuperate after all this exhausting sightseeing in Rome or Florence. The beaches are great, and many beautiful artistic towns are very close.

1. Day 1 Arrive in Forte dei Marmi
Only about 110 km from Florence, it's a perfect starting point for visiting beautiful Tuscan destinations. The town is charming, slow-paced, with nice shops and cafes. Romantic old villas surrounded by lush gardens and pine trees line quiet streets.

Hotel Villa Roma Imperiale is in walking distance to the beaches and town center. It's small and pleasant.
3. Day 2 A Perfect Lazy Day
Most of the sandy beaches here are pay-as-you-enter. Swimming is safe and strolling along the water's edge is fun. In the evening, dress up and join the traditional passeggiata around the main square of the town.
4. Day 3 A Trip to Pisa
Pisa is only a short car or bus ride away (40 km). Don't leave yet after visiting the famous leaning tower and Duomo. Walk along the Arno river, discover elegant palazzi and squares.
5. Day 4 Fortified Villages of Lunigiana
Head inland to explore a mountainous region of fortified villages and Romanesque churches. The names of the towns sound like music: Fosdinovo, Fivizzano, Pontremoli.
6. Day 5 A Trip to Lucca
Lucca is delightful and underrated. Stroll around and discover the intricate facades of Lucca's Romanesque and Gothic churches.
Carrara area is famous for its marble quarries and workshops. Some of them are open for visitors.
8. Day 7 The Last Perfect Day…
Take one more stroll on the beach, one more plate of delicious seafood, one more glance at the gardens of Forte dei Marmi before you head back to your hectic life!
