Barcelona isn't only a place where to have fun at night in the many bars and nightclubs, it is also culturally very rich and has many wonderful art museums for those of you who want to get the most of your visit to this fabulous city.

1. Picasso Museum

With more than 3500 materpieces of the famous painter, this museum is a must to learn about Picasso's youth and his relationship to the city of Barcelona.
2. Joan Miro Foundation
Joan Miro Foundation (Fundacio Joan Miro), Barcelona, Catalonia
This is a great place to visit to learn more about the Surrealist painter Juan Miro, who was born in Barcelona. The museum also hosts temporary exhibitions related to the artist.
3. Tapies Foundation
Tapies Foundation (Fundacio Antoni Tapies), Barcelona, Catalonia
Antoni Tapies, the founder of the Dau-al-Set (Surrealism and Dadaism) artistic movement, created this foundation in 1984 in order to promote the study and the knowledge the of modern and contemporary art.
4. Mies Van der Rohe Pavillon
It was designed by the German architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe as the German National Pavilion for the 1929 Barcelona International Exhibition. Built in glass, travertine and different kinds of marble, the Pavilion was conceived to accommodate the official reception presided by King Alphonso XIII of Spain with the German authorities. Disassembled in 1930, after the Exhibition, this architectural gem was re-built in 1986 and can now be visited.
5. Catalan National Art Museum
Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya - MNAC, Barcelona, Catalonia
The Catalan National Art Museum (Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya) has wonderful collections of all the arts (sculpture, painting, objets d'art, drawing, engraving, posters, photography and coinage). His mission being to show us verything about Catalan art over nearly 10 centuries, you can imagine how rich and interesting this place is. A pure gem for art lovers!
6. Center of Contemporary Culture of Barcelona (CCCB)
Center of Contemporary Culture of Barcelona (CCCB), Barcelona, Catalonia
Exhibitions, music, dance, courses, debates, lectures, city walks, etc are organized by this amazing cultural center. It is one of the many organizations which make Barcelona so culturally rich. Not to be missed!
7. CaixaForum
CaixaForum, Barcelona, Catalonia
Built to house a factory in 1911 by architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch, this redbrick Art Nouveau fortress was opened in early 2002 as a cultural center. You don't want to miss the amazing glass and steel sculpture in the entrance!
8. Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art

An interesting collection of modern artworks starting in the 50's , by Spanish or international artists.
9. Frederic Mares Museum
Frederic Mares Museum (Museu Frederic Mares), Barcelona, Catalonia
The sculptor Frederic Mares was a great collectioner of art and he founded this museum when he donated his collection to the city of Barcelona. All kinds of art works can be found there, from a Roman sarcophage to objects from everyday life centuries ago.
10. Parc Guell

And in the end of your visit, or whenever you want to relax on the hill of El Carmel, it's always so nice to walk in this park, surrounded with Gaudi's artworks everywhere! During each visit you'll make new discoveries, and will never want to stop taking pictures! And if you are an artist, it's a great place to draw or paint too!
