Fun things to do while weekending in MIami, FL

1. Miami Beach
South Beach, make sure to hit the Clevelander for drinks and Mangos for dancing..walk along the beach and later plant yourself at a sidewalk cafe for people watching
2. Coconut Grove
Great shopping, dining...make sure to hit Scotty's Landing, a great local spot for inexpensive seafood and more people watching!
3. Key Biscayne
resort area, Seaquarium, Lighthouse Point...Lighthouse Point is a wonderful state park with history, nature trails, fishing, great snorkeling and beaches...take the kiddies all the way to the lighthoue tip and snorkel along the rocks...great spot for beginners!
Make sure to stop and have a frita (cuban style hamburger) or a cuban sandwich...check out Domino Park and watch the old timers while the day away at this seemingly simple game or try your luck!
5. Coral Gables
great shopping and dining on Miracle Mile, drive east on Coral Way (24th Street) through the Gables to see the majestic historic Spanish style homes with old trees along the road creating a beautiful canopy...a nice drive...
Old rock quarry made into a pool early in the century, beauty contests were held there for a time; the pools has caves, waterfalls, a kiddie section; great for families and couples, too...the water is always ice cold and is the best place to be in the dead of the summer!
Huge outdoor mall with lots of great shopping, dining, free live entertainment, boat rides, gondola rides...lots of fun; a great way to spend an evening
8. Doral Golf Resort and Spa

a short drive from Miami, visit John Pennekamp park for world class diving and snorkeling, lots of touristy "Keys" type shopping, great dining... try Sundowners for great seafood...
10. Flagler Dog Track & Sports Entertainment Center
great Flea Market on Saturdays and Sundays, 50 cents admission. Great spot to pick up local seafood and produce, tshirts, jewelry, clothes...you name it, they got it! Very hispanic, but most people speak english, too...
