The vibrant city of Marrakech is one of Morocco’s four Imperial Cities and a major cultural center famous for its open marketplaces and its large square. Travelers can take horse drawn carriages throughout the streets of the city, or explore its many sites on foot. There are plenty of cafés for relaxation and markets for shopping. |

| This spectacular main square in Marrakech hosts stunning performers such as jugglers, snake charmers and storytellers who compete for the attention of passersby. |

| These mountains provide a dramatic backdrop to Marrakech. Travelers can enjoy taking a moped or a mountain bike through the scenic valleys to see waterfalls and streams. Between December and March, Oukaimeden is a popular skiing destination. The High Atlas are excellent for trekking on foot or skis. |

| One very important site in the Atlas range to visit, especially for film fans such as myself, is this village of small Kasbahs probably best known for its appearance in over 20 films, including Lawrence of Arabia. |

| Rabat is another of Morocco’s Imperial Cities and home to the royal palace and the Kasbah des Oudaïa, which was used in the 12th century as a base for military campaigns against the Spanish. |

| Made especially famous by Hollywood, this bustling city is the most “Western” styled city in Morocco. It is also known for its vibrant beaches as well as for the Hassan II Mosque, the largest religious monument outside of Mecca. |

This Imperial City is home to one of the largest medieval cities in the world, the twisting maze of Fès el-Bali, or Old Fès. |

| This Imperial City is host to the architectural splendor of Dar El Makhzen palace and the historic ramparts surrounding the city, with the ornate gates of Bab-Berdaine and Bab-El-Mansour. The amazing views of the city are complimented by the city’s vista of the Agdal basin. |
