Where to eat, and what to do on the Sunrise Side of Michigan.

  • 1. Hsing's Garden Chinese Restaurant
Hsing's Garden Chinese Restaurant, East Tawas, Michigan

One of the best places to eat in Tawas! Every time I have eaten here over the past few years, it has been hot, fresh and delicious! If I were to have any complaint at all, I like my food very-spicy, and even though the menu says something is HOT, it's not as spicy as I would like it...but other than that, the food is great!

  • 2. Los Quatros Amigos
Los Quatros Amigos, East Tawas, Michigan

If you like authentic style Mexican food, then this is the place for you. They have decent service, and awesome food. The prices are OK, and they don't have much of a children's menu, but it's a great place to eat. Your food will be hot and delicious.

  • 3. Tawas Point Lighthouse
Tawas Point Lighthouse, East Tawas, Michigan

A real nice are for picnics, as well as scenery. Secluded beaches allow for less congested swimming, and beach lounging. Also, lighthouse is awesome. They do offer tours, and there are a lot of great pictures you can take of the area.

  • 4. Lumberman's Monument Park
Lumberman's Monument Park, Tawas City, Michigan

It's a bit of a drive from Tawas, but well worth it. You can visit little museums, see actual artifacts from the lumberman's days, as well as walk the few hundred steps from the top of the monument, to the lake below. A lot of areas for great picture taking, and every time I've gone, I have seen bald eagles!
