This quaint boutique offers friendly and personalized service and comfortable accommodations. Its location at the heart of the Sultanahmet District makes it the perfect starting point for a day of exploring this incredible city.
Taking a ferry along this strait between the Black Sea and the Sea of Marmara is one of the most fascinating ways to become familiar with this area. The strategic waterway separating Europe from Asia serves as a divider between East and West.
The old district of Istanbul is filled with breathtaking architecture and interesting sites. The immense Topkapi Palace, ancient residence of the Ottoman rulers, offers tours of its harem. The beautiful Blue Mosque with its many domes and minarets as well as its dazzling blue tiled interior is a wonder to behold.
Designed by the same architect as the Blue Mosque, this gorgeous Turkish bath is a beautiful place to relax and enjoy some of Turkish culture. The surrounding area hosts some interesting attractions, including the Vezirhan Monument and the tombs of Ali Baba and Sultan Mahmut II.
No trip to Istanbul is complete without a visit to the Grand Bazaar and the neighboring Spice Bazaar, an enormous maze of shops, cafés and stalls in Turkey’s largest souk. Within the dozens of alleys you will find gorgeous Turkish carpets, traditional handicrafts, historical restaurants, glazed tiles, brassware, copperware, pottery, leather apparel, souvenirs, spices, hookah pipes and t-shirts. There is a great mix of tourist shops and local vendors, giving the whole place an air of authenticity. Be sure to get a map; this market is very large and can be confusing.
6. Dinner along Istiklal Caddesi
This cobblestone street, reminiscent of a Parisian boulevard, is home to a number of fantastic restaurants and cafés perfect for a dinner break. There are also many theaters if you want to catch a film.
7. Enjoy the nightlife at Beyoglu
This district on the north bank of the Golden Horn is known for its exciting bars and cafés. The Galata Mevlevihanesi, a Whirling Dervish hall, hosts the Mevlevi dervishes, and a number of posh shops are open into the evening for shopping.
