  • 1. Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens
Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens, Cape Town Central

Summer Sunday evening concerts with great entertainment. Go early to look at some beautiful flowers, take a blanket, book and pick nick blanket (don't forget the cheese and chardonnay ), wander over to the concert venue inside the Botanical Gardens to get a great seat and enjoy some live music under the shade of the mountain!

  • 2. Old Biscuit Mill
Old Biscuit Mill, Cape Town Central

Neighbourhood goods market. Go early with a bunch of friends, find a seat and forage. Deliciously sinful foods, coctails, artisinal beer, champagne, oysters and even tea. The bacon and cheese rotsis are to die for.

  • 3. Boulders Beach
    Boulders Beach, Simon's Town

Penguins!!!! Loads of cute but smelly penguins wondering around the boulders beach area. Pay to get to the beach area and catch them swimming or wonder around the beach path around the back for free and enjoy.

  • 4. Catch a train to Kalkbay from Cape Town
    http://www.capemetrorail.co.za/

Catch a train to Kalk Bay from Cape Town Central! spectacular views along the Muisenberg, Simonstown stretch. Best ocean views, train a bit worse for wear but a must for the adventurous tourist. This is Africa so don't flaunt valuables and be aware of people entering your personal space and you'll be fine. Have a few cocktails in Kalk Bay and browse the antique and junk stores. On the way home have a look at the beach in Muisenberg where the Shark Spotter Program keeps the bathers safe with specially trained observers on lookout stations on the mountain. Different colour flags are flown indicating the presence of Great White Sharks - warning bathers to stay out of the water. Try and spot one yourself! Take some lovely pictures or do a surf lesson.
