This 1,700 acre reserve atop a 300 ft high cliff has sand trails leading to the edge of the cliffs.
2. Torrey Pines Gliderport
Hang gliders leap off the cliff to soar over the sea. This is where you get to watch bonafide crazy people.
This is a must stop spot if you decide to visit La Jolla. The cove is a perfect area to watch seals do their thing........whatever that is.
This historic gold mining town is filled with history and apple pies. The fall apple harvest starts in mid September.
It takes about 90 minutes to get there from San Diego unless your not afraid of the police and then it takes 60 minutes.
This 400ft long pier jets out over the ocean along with your cottage and car. You can take a stroll on the pier without having to stay at the hotel. The marine life, fishermen and surfers all rule here. Oh ye.....tourist too.
For you exercise addicts the three mile Mission Boardwalk is the place for running, rollerblading, walking, biking and people watching. Only the strong will survive.
7. Sunset Cliffs
A perfect way to end the day or weekend is to drive to Sunset Cliffs. Sure ...you've seen sunsets before. But there's something different in watching a sunset while your within feet of the ragged edge of the cliff and waves crash beneath you. Need I say ....bring your camera?
